Ischia in 3 days: a local's itinerary

Three days is the right measure to see Ischia without rushing: one day for thermal parks and sea, one for villages, one for nature and food.

Ischia in 3 days: a local's itinerary

01

Day 1 — Lacco Ameno and the thermal parks

Morning: breakfast on Corso Rizzoli, walk to the Fungo, visit Santa Restituta. Afternoon: Negombo thermal park in San Montano bay. Evening: seafood dinner on the corso and a walk along the promenade.

02

Day 2 — Ischia Ponte and the Aragonese Castle

Morning: old Ischia Ponte, its alleys and fish market. The Aragonese Castle, a fortified islet reached by a bridge, needs at least 3 hours. Evening: aperitivo at Ischia Porto, dinner in Lacco Ameno.

03

Day 3 — The south of the island

Morning: Sant'Angelo, the pedestrian village and its Rock. Swim at Maronti beach or in Sorgeto cove (natural thermal bath). Afternoon: up to the Serrara Fontana belvedere for the Vesuvius view. Back to Lacco Ameno for sunset.

04

If you add a fourth day

Monte Epomeo (789 m, 2-hour hike up) for a 360° view of the gulf; or Forio, with the Chiesa del Soccorso and La Mortella (William Walton's botanical gardens).

05

Where to stay

Lacco Ameno is the quietest, most elegant, best-connected base. Ideal if you want to walk to dinner, avoid Ischia Porto's noise, and be close to the great thermal parks.
